Saint Botolph is born in England.

(ca.) An Irish monk, he founds a monastery in East Anglia that spurs establishment of St. Botolph’s Town, a name subsequently compressed to Boston. The patron saint of shipbuilders, Botolph dies in 680, and his feast day is subsequently celebrated on June 17th.
